A Strong Collaborative Meeting for Sustainable Tobacco Control and Public Health! 🌿ðŸš
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) convened its quarterly Grantees Coordination Meeting at the Health Development and Anti-Malaria Association (HDAMA) Meeting Hall, 13 July 2026. The meeting brought together representatives from CTFK, the Meqoamia Community Development Organization (MCDO), HDAMA, and the Matheos Wondu Foundation (MWF).

The gathering served as a vital platform to review recent achievements, strengthen collaboration among implementing partners, and outline priorities for the next phase of tobacco control programming in Ethiopia. Discussions opened with remarks highlighting the importance of transitioning Ethiopia’s tobacco control program toward greater national and local ownership to ensure long-term sustainability. During the session, partner organizations presented their progress over the past three months, sharing key milestones, lessons learned, and operational challenges.
Particular focus was given to MCDO’s presentation, leading to constructive discussions on:
🔹 Strengthening collaboration and joint initiatives with fellow civil society organizations,
🔹 Enhancing coordination and engagement at the sub-city level,
🔹 Increasing organizational visibility and public awareness.
Looking ahead, partners agreed to intensify joint planning, improve communication, maximize collective impact, and leverage digital platforms to advance tobacco control advocacy. MCDO remains deeply committed to protecting public health and working alongside our partners for a tobacco-free future! 💪
