Directors message

Meqoamia Community Development Organization (MCDO) is starting its next chapter in June 2023. Since February 2023, MCDO and its Board of Directors have been engaged in a strategic planning process. This process was supported by research, SWOT analysis, and secondary document review. It has provided us with a roadmap for the next five years.

We have learned a lot during this process, and we are eager to share our direction. After consultations with our member staff and Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce that the Meqoamia Community Development Organization (MCDO) Strategic Plan 2023-2027 will be ready to be shared with all of our respective partners.

The Strategic Plan is focused on four key strategies:

  1. Enhance the Institutional Capacity of MCDO, Ethiopia.
  2. Enhance Program Diversity and Implementation.
  3. Partnership Development.
  4. Staff Well-being and Development.

Our work happens in a rapidly changing environment. The generation is vulnerable to addiction, so our strategic direction must catch up with this rapid change. With this in mind, the strategic plan was written with the intention to regularly revisit and measure successes, and to account for emerging opportunities.

What will remain constant, however, is that our initiatives and activities will continue to strive to own an infrastructure for MCDO to conduct its rehabilitation programs in a fixed location.

We look forward to executing the Strategic Plan with you. Your input contributes in both formal and informal ways to different aspects of our programs. We encourage you to stay in touch – whether through our newsletter, social media, or reaching out directly to the MCDO team – we always welcome the opportunity to connect with our partners.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to the next chapter of MCDO, as we continue to work with stakeholders, grants, and families, administrators to push boundaries, inspire innovation, and pursue excellence.
