Mr. Elias Kalayu Abrha, Executive Director of Meqoamia Community Development Organization (MCDO) and a longstanding advocate for community health and policy integrity, has successfully completed the online course “Tobacco Industry Monitoring and Policy Advocacy.”

About the Course
The course was developed and delivered by the Africa Centre for Tobacco Industry Monitoring and Policy Research (ATIM) at the University of Pretoria. It focused on the tactics used by the tobacco industry to undermine public health policies, as well as practical measures to implement Article 5.3 of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC), which protects health policies from commercial and vested interests.

Throughout the twelve modules of the course, Mr. Elias demonstrated exceptional performance, achieving high scores in all assessments – including perfect scores (100%) in several modules. ይህ ኮርስ በአፍሪካ ትምባሆ ኢንዱስትሪ ቁጥጥር እና ፖሊሲ ምርምር ማዕከል (ATIM) ተዘጋጅቶ በፕሪቶሪያ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ይሰጥ ነበር። ኮርሱ ትምባሆ ኢንዱስትሪ የህዝብ ጤና ፖሊሲዎችን ለማደናቀፍ የሚጠቀምባቸውን ስልቶች፣ እንዲሁም የዓለም ጤና ድርጅት የትምባሆ ቁጥጥር ማዕቀፍ ኮንቬንሽን (WHO FCTC) አንቀጽ 5.3ን ተግባራዊ ለማድረግ በሚያስችሉ መንገዶች ላይ ያተኮረ ነበር።
